These inns give you the personal, family-type atmosphere that’s very comforting after a day on the road and staying there will have you waking refreshed, relaxed and ready to take on any long stretch of road.

If you’ve never stayed in a bed and breakfast inn, it’s likely you never gave them much of a look. You’ve probably passed them and never knew it. When on long road trips, or when you found yourself too tired to drive, you searched for hotels on the signs that marked the attractions for the approaching exits. Hotels are in abundance. Some are very nice, but most are generic and don’t really provide any kind of personal service. Bed and breakfast inns are going to have to be sought for in other ways. Some bed and breakfast inns may advertise on those signs that mark gas stations and restaurants, and hotels, but those are likely just regular hotels in disguise. A bed and breakfast is different. You’ll have to either use the internet or call information to find a bed and breakfast inn coming up along your trade route. You should be able to determine using any map or GPS system where your half point will be, or when you know you should probably rest, so search for a bed and breakfast inn around that area.
Why They Are Different
A bed and breakfast inn is different than a hotel because you are essentially staying in someone’s home. Most bed and breakfast inns are cases where a couple who either doesn’t have kids or they are all grown, will buy a bread and breakfast inn for sale or they’ll convert their own house into an inn using the kids’ empty rooms for their guests. Most bed and breakfast inns only provide shelter and food for one or two families or individuals. That’s because most inns like these are limited. However, there are cases of elaborate bed and breakfast inns that can hold quite a few people. The best part about a bed and breakfast inn, and the main thing that separates them from hotels is that they often bring everyone to breakfast at one table, just like a family would. This is a great way to meet other people, to hear about others’ journeys and to share your thanks for providing such a great, home-like experience.
